Wedding Update

Only 98 short days stand in between me and the night of my dreams. Every day I grow more and more excited to marry my one and only! So much has fallen into line with finding vendors and making plans. I now have all of my vendors set: Photographer (Heather Hester - check out her blog: heatherHphotography.blogspot.com), florist (Tiffany at Studio Flower), DJ (Jerry Dichiara), cake baker (Louise's Cakes and Things), hair and make up (girls from Cates House), and catering (Cates House). We've got our honeymoon booked (Jamaica) and our wedding night suit booked (Ross Bridge Resort). It is such a relief checking things off my list like this. The next on the list is the reception menu, finishing addressing invitations, finding bridesmaid gifts, and working on the DJ set list for the reception.

A few weeks ago Rob and I started our premarital counseling sessions. They have been so wonderful already and we've only had one actual session. The first meeting we had was just a quick interview with the counselor, so he could get to know us better, and then we each took a personality assessment. The assessment was used to figure out possible problem areas so then we could talk through them (i.e. how to solve the problem, etc).

The next time we met (our first real session) we went through two sections of the assessment and worked through the "issues". The good thing about it was that our only real "issues" were extremely petty (i.e. "my future spouse usually decides where we eat"). I am so glad that we're doing premarital counseling and I encourage every engaged couple to go through it. It is a such a great tool to have under your belt when entering the marriage contract.

I have been so blessed to have such an incredible future husband and I am so excited to see what our future holds. God is going to bless us richly as he already has, as long as we are actively seeking His throne. My prayer is that we constantly learn new ways to incorporate Biblical teachings to our relationship with each other and that we would always seek God first and trust in his leadership.
